    "This is a school picture with Hattie Island Pearson and her sister Lucy Ann Pearson. The photo has been marked with Hattie in front row third from the end on the right. And Lucy is in the next row back and also third from the end on the right. I can't read the name of the school on the chalk board but you can see the year on it. 1894." Lucy and Hattie were living at Crain's Island, Illinois at this time and this was likely the closest school they could attend. Ron Mansker is in possession of this photo.

The man marked in the photo is my great-step-grandfather (I think that's how you would say it). He is Grandpa Ford the [second] husband of Nancy Ellen (Hook) Pearson Ford.
